Triple Crown | Hound Ears
Photographed the first of three events of the Triple Crown Bouldering Series. I am told this is the largest comp in the country. The crowds were big with big talent. Check out the link for more images from the event. Check out the link for more images from the event. www.jeffzimmermanphotography.com/houndears

A great thought provoking video I stumbled upon today by Zack Arias. It is long but a worth while watch.

Eco-Friendly Hot Rod
Photos from a recent shoot for Jerry Noone/Rocket Auto Works. http://www.rocketautoworks.com/index.html New from the ground up this car is a 1933 Highboy Roadster replica. 360 hp ecotec 4 cylinder engine gets 30 mpg and was painted with water based paint. Sweet!

Peru Revisited
Revisited my images from Peru today. I really liked this on of Hauscaran in the Cordillera Blanca but the highlights were over exposed. I recently discovered Photomatrix a tone mapping software. I thought I would try to see if I could save the image. I also applied Nik Silver Efex to create the monochromatic blue tone. I like the dramatic effect it created. Let me know what you think.

Crankworx Slopestyle Finals
With the rain finally gone and blue skies above us, the Slopestyle Finals kicked off. The riders had been skipping the top part of the coarse during previous practice days so today was the only chance to capture the action.
The coarse started with a big drop off a gnarly piece of granite onto a wooden spiral. Next, riders were launched through the air off a wooden ramp nearly 30 ft above the landing.
From the shadow of the woods, the riders soared into sunlight, high above the crowd, turning flips one jump after another.
Brandon Semenuk wins the Crankworx Colorado Slopestyle event for the second year in a row. Results here

Crankworx Colorado
The Crankworx Slopestyle coarse is nuts. Ramps take riders flying through the air 30-40 ft up. With landing pads built out of the nearby trees, (20 feet up) the riders rarely touch the ground. They jump across huge gaps facing serious consequences but their finesse and skill make it look easy.

Crankworks Colorado
I was just informed that I am getting a media pass for the Crankworx Colorado mountain bike event at Winter Park. That means I will behind the scenes shooting the event. Looking forward to a road trip. Look for photo from the trip in early August.

Trip to Max Patch
Took a trip up to a friend's cabin Sunrise Lookout this weekend. The cabin is located deep in the Appalachians near the beautiful Max Patch, a high grassy bald with spectacular views of the Smoky Mountain National Park. With the cabin located only 7 miles from this great location my wife and I made the drive up for the sunset. Not a great sunset but an amazing view never the less. On the 7 mile return trip down the winding gravel road just after the sunset we saw 5 deer and a big black bear. In my 6 years living in the North Carolina mountains I have not seen this many deer and have only seen 3 bear.

Triple Crown DH Race
Spent last weekend photographing a fun event at Beech Mountain. The Triple Crown downhill mountain bike race series kicked off with the first of 3 events. Gnarly fast coarse. Geritt Beytagh won with time of 2 minutes 16 seconds.
